Choosing a Strider size: age and inseam
Choose a Strider by your child’s inseam, not just their age. Here is what to check before buying.
Measure the inseam first
Have your child stand against a wall in shoes and measure from the crotch to the floor. With the saddle at its lowest, both feet should sit flat on the ground.
Setting the saddle height
- Both soles on the ground with knees slightly bent is a good target
- Too high and a child cannot catch themselves when they wobble
- Recheck often as they grow
Do not rely on age alone
Children of the same age vary a lot. Judge by inseam and by whether they reach the handlebars comfortably.
Try before you buy
If you can sit on one at a shop or event, do. Always confirm current sizes and specifications with the manufacturer.
